I’ve been hearing good things about this film for a while now. Dubbed from the Tamil movie Dhuruvangal Pathinaaru, 16 is a finely crafted thriller. Right from the word go, the movie has its grip on you and it never slackens.
A murder. An accident. Killer(s) on the loose. A smart police inspector working on the case. There you have – all the essential elements of a suspense thriller. Even with these elements, most thrillers fall apart. 16, thankfully, doesn’t. What makes this film work is the execution. Writing couldn’t have been better. Editing, spot on! Direction, flawless. Acting, natural and believable.
I am not going to even attempt writing a sentence or two about the plot here. I’ve already written what I wanted to, what I can, in the first sentence of the previous paragraph. Since this is a thriller, I cannot divulge anything more. And because there’s hardly anything I disliked about this film, I cannot rant about it as well.
This is going to be my smallest review yet.
It’s already been a week since the release of this film. If you haven’t watched it yet, nothing should stop you from watching it now. It’s worth the 150 bucks and a little less than 2 hours of your time. Good thrillers are hard to come by and when they do, make sure you don’t miss them! Strongly recommended! 🙂
I’m going with 4/5 for 16! 🙂
